A heartbreaking development has emerged in the case of Shalini Singh, a 40-year-old Indian-origin woman from Hamilton, Ontario, who has been missing since early December 2024. Singh was last seen entering her apartment on December 2, and her family reported her missing on December 10 after they were unable to reach her. Despite weeks of investigation, there had been no breakthrough—until now.

On May 21, 2025, Hamilton Police located partial human remains at the Glanbrook Landfill on Haldibrook Road during an extensive search operation. Investigators believe the remains could belong to Shalini Singh, although official identification is pending DNA test results, which may take several weeks. Police suspect Singh was killed in her apartment and her body was disposed of via the building’s waste chute—a theory supported by security footage showing her entering the apartment complex but never leaving.

Her common-law partner, one of the initial individuals to report her missing, has since been located but is reportedly not cooperating with the investigation. He has not yet been named a suspect or person of interest.
Hamilton Police continue to treat this as a homicide case and urge anyone with information to contact Detective Adam Baglieri at 905-546-3859.
