The disappearance of Indore couple Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya has taken a tragic turn. Raja’s body was discovered on June 2 in a deep gorge near Weisawdong Falls in Sohra (Cherrapunji), eight days after the couple went missing on May 23. The body was located using drone technology and identified by a tattoo on his right hand.

Sonam Raghuvanshi remains missing, and search operations are ongoing in the challenging terrain.
The couple had checked out of a homestay in Nongriat village on May 23, and their rented scooter was found abandoned near Sohra Rim on May 24.
Following the discovery of Raja’s body, the Meghalaya Police registered a murder case and formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident. A machete was recovered near the site, leading authorities to suspect homicide. Raja’s family has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe, citing missing personal belongings such as jewelry and mobile phones, and expressing concerns over the possibility of kidnapping and murder.
