Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko and his family met with a tragic accident on the morning of June 6, 2025, near Palacode in Tamil Nadu’s Dharmapuri district, resulting in the unfortunate death of his father, C.P. Chacko, aged 70.

The family was traveling from Ernakulam to Bengaluru for Shine’s medical treatment when their multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) collided with a lorry around 7:00 AM. Alongside Shine, his mother Maria Carmel (65), brother Joe John Chacko (31), and their driver Anees (42) were also in the vehicle. All sustained injuries and were admitted to the Dharmapuri Government Medical College Hospital for treatment.
According to Anees, their car was moving at 60–80 km/h when a lorry abruptly swerved into their lane, causing the collision. No other vehicles were reported on the road at the time. The front of the vehicle suffered heavy damage. Shine sustained a fracture in his left hand, while his mother and brother had minor injuries.
